We’re pleased to share that our new Digital Impairment Management capability is now live.
The new digital capability is accessible for corporate customers with survey programmes across multiple locations via the Aviva Risk Insight Portal.
An impairment is where any action results in any part of a property detection or protection system being inoperative, taken out of service or a condition in which the system can't perform its designed safety function.
GCS customers are required to notify us of an impairment prior to any system being rendered inoperative.
Key features of Digital Impairment Management
This new functionality introduces a more streamlined way to manage impairments:
- Logging impairments. These can now be logged digitally through the Aviva Risk Insight Portal, removing the need for the manual PDF form. Simply complete the new digital form and we'll be automatically notified. We may directly contact you for additional information.
- Updating impairments. The portal allows impairments to be updated, including extending the estimated completion date, adding updates or confirming when an impairment has been restored. (Note: You will receive a reminder email if the estimated restoration date passes and the impairment is still outstanding.)
- Viewing impairment data. The portal provides visibility of impairment data, letting you view open and closed impairments by location. In addition, charts offer insights into overall and monthly open and closed impairments.
Why is it so important to notify us of an impairment?
Managing issues effectively is crucial to minimising disruption and safeguarding people and property. When notified, we’re able to provide expert advice to help make sure appropriate measures are put in place, keeping any downtime to a minimum and managing precautions efficiently.
It’s also important to recognise that sites can become more vulnerable when protection or detection systems are out of service, particularly during periods of change.
