As part of our commitment to the Financial Lines market, we have made three senior appointments to our Financial Lines team in our Global, Corporate and Specialty (GCS) business.
Samantha Shean joins us as Head of Financial Institutions. Sam is a well-known, experienced figure in the market, having built a career spanning 25 years as a specialist in Financial Institutions. She joins Aviva after 12 years at Axis Capital, where she most recently served as Head of Financial Institutions. In her new role, Sam will report directly to Ramesh Singh, Underwriting Director, Financial Lines. Ramesh will start with us in December, a month earlier than originally planned.
Duncan Goddard will join us as Senior Financial Lines Underwriter for the South & Greater London. Duncan has more than 20 years’ experience as an underwriter in the insurance industry, and joins Aviva from Chubb, where he has worked as a Senior Underwriter in its Financial Lines teams. Duncan will sit in our Regional Financial Lines Team focussing on large corporate and complex business.
Kate Albert also joins us later this year as Professional Indemnity Underwriting Manager. Kate joins from Landmark Underwriting, where she worked as Head of Professional Indemnity (UK & Europe) before becoming the Head of Underwriting. Kate’s strength of experience in Professional Indemnity will further build on our commitment to Financial Lines.
Sam, Duncan and Kate’s appointments build on other recent senior Aviva GCS hires, including Daisy Laskey as Head of Management Liability and Jo Rasho as Head of London Markets.
